Ensuring vehicle electronics are free of interference is crucial. It is important that automotive devices are electromagnetically compatible. They should not interfere with the functioning of other products nor be affected by external interference. The E4 symbol demonstrates that your products are electromagnetically compatible.
The Dutch Approval Authority (RDW) approved DEKRA as a technical service. This means that our test results are readily adopted within their UNECE certification. We can help you prepare for the admission and certification of your products. Once it has been established that your products meet EMC requirements, the RDW will issue a UNECE certificate (E4) and your products can be freely marketed throughout the Europe including the EU (and other countries).
EMC tests are compulsory for crucial automobile components, such as airbags and ABS. However, other electronics, such as ornamental lights and in-car entertainment systems must also comply with the EMC criteria stipulated in the UNECE Regulation No. 10. We can determine whether your products conform to the Regulation. In addition, we are accredited for the certification of motor vehicle lighting such as headlamps, rear position and stop lamps, rear fog lamps, reversing lamps as well as the light sources.
DEKRA test reports have a substantial added value for your customers, for government agencies, and other stakeholders. And they are very useful in the case of, for example, business-related issues. We work flexibly and do our utmost to take your planning and processes into account.
