Access to Brazil

DEKRA helps you get your products certified for INMETRO

Today almost all electrical equipment and devices must meet the technical requirements established by the Brazilian government before it can be imported, distributed and/or sold to the Brazilian market. By law all products that meet these requirements must carry the INMETRO mark. This mark also increases consumer confidence in your products. At DEKRA we are accredited by INMETRO/CGCRE to evaluate  products according to Brazilian technical regulations and to place the INMETRO mark on your products.

INMETRO is Brazil’s National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology. CGRE is INMETRO's General Coordination for Accreditation division. Our experts know the INMETRO requirements inside out. We can also combine certification for Brazil with the issue of certificates for marks such as KEMA-KEUR, DEKRA GS, CE and CCC - thus avoiding duplication, improving efficiency, and saving both time and costs.

The INMETRO scheme includes annual assessments of your manufacturing facilities. We can carry out these assessments, as well as routine production tests of electrical and electronic products. A wide range of products require INMETRO certification.

The mandatory scope includes:

  • Consumer appliances
  • Active Medical Devices
  • Plugs and Socket Outlets
  • Circuit Breakers
  • Ballast CFL
  • IT equipment
  • Microwave Ovens
  • Electrical Equipment for Explosive Atmospheres
  • Components for the Automotive Industry
  • Wires, cables and flexible electrical cords
  • Requirements for LED Lamps

Medical equipment has special registration requirements. For details of these, please contact us.

If you are considering shipping electrical and electronic products to Brazil, now's the time to get in touch. We look forward to helping you enter this dynamic market!
